Frequently Asked Questions

Q: On many product descriptions I see a Love of Art Productions logo, but not all the time. What does that mean?

A: TeachingTapes has a production company called Love of Art Productions and has produced many of the DVDs listed. These titles are of exceptional quality in content, navigation, as well as visual and audio quality. Titles without the LOA logo on them were produced by others and distributed on our site.

Q: How often does TeachingTapes add product to their site?

A: We add product as we acquire them, either by purchasing from other sources or producing our own. We welcome your comments about what subjects you’d like to see on DVD.

Q: Why are you called Teaching Tapes when you sell DVDs?

A: We began many years ago when VHS tapes were still the standard distribution format, but since have gravitated toward the higher quality, superior navigation properties of DVD. However, our name TeachingTapes has been well established among our customers.

Q: Can I get a wholesale price?

A: Wholesale pricing is available to proven wholesalers who buy specific quantities of titles. If you are a wholesaler, call us for a quote. If you are a club or art society and wish discounted rates, just contact us for a quote.

Q: I have seen some of your titles on other sites, sometimes at different prices. Are they legitimate copies?

A: Many of our wholesalers price our product differently, but all versions carried by approved wholesalers are the same as the ones you see on our site.

Q: Do you offer your titles for rent or will you in the future?

A: We have yet to offer our products on a rental bases because we tend to think of our products as “reference” material, something that you’ll want to refer to over and over again. Renting implies you watch it once and return it. The information becomes fleeting. However, it could be people want to “try before they buy” and we might consider some sort of “rental” option in the future if enough customers request the service. Please send us a comment stating so on our Contact Us page.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: We offer a 100% money back guarantee if you are unhappy with our product for any reason please call us and we'll make it right.

Q: I am an artist with a DVD I made. Will you distribute it for me?

A: We are always willing to consider distributing someone else’s DVD if it meets our quality requirements.

Q: I am an artist who would like to make a video. Will you consider producing for me?

A: Our production company, Love of Art Productions, is a full service production company that can produce your title for you and you can retain all rights, or we can produce a title in partnership and we retain all rights, but you are given a royalty every quarter based on sales of your title. Call us for terms and further information.

Q: Who are the principal owners of TeachingTapes and how did you get started?

A: Ron Hardy and Alan Lefebvre are the partners of TeachingTapes and Love of Art Productions. The company was started in 2002 and has grown the library since.
